I present to you, the Manul, also known as the Pallas Cat, a new favorite wild cat of mine.
The Manul is stocky and has very lengthy, thick fur, which gives it an unintentional appearance of feline rotundity. Although it appears stout and somewhat ungainly it has a natural elegance and poise – exactly what you would expect from the genus Felis. The Manul’s legs are shorter in proportion to other cats and can’t run nearly as fast as others. Their ears are also much lower and further apart than on domestic cats. Probably the most fascinating thing about this little kitty cat however, is its round, not slit-like, eyes. This a small wild cat can be found in the grasslands and montane steppe of Central Asia .
